The UGA Wind Ensemble, under the direction of John Lynch and with special guest conductor George Foreman, presents a free concert on the lawn today on the North Campus Quad, 12:30 pm.

Two guest artists, faculty from the Alessandria Conservatory, UGA's music study abroad partner institution, will play a special recital tonight in Ramsey Hall at 8 p.m.. Claudio Merlo, violoncello, and Giorgio Vercillo, piano, will play a program that includes the Sonata in G minor, op. 65 by Frédéric Chopin and the Adagio e Allegro, op.70 by Robert Schumann.

The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.

The Faculty Recital Series at the UGA Performing Arts Center kicks off tonight with Brandon Craswell. Tickets are $5. Craswell, trumpet, will be joined by Janet Craswell on piano.

Tonight at 8 p.m. in Ramsey Concert Hall, don't miss a rare event - all three resident faculty ensembles performing on one in the same evening. The Georgia Woodwind Quintet, Georgia Brass Quintet and the Franklin String Quartet all boast new members this semester, as well.

Admission is free. This is a blue card event.

Liana Embovica, who for many years served as staff accompanist in the Hodgson School of Music, passed away on August 18, 2010. Please join us for a memorial service for Liana on Sunday, September 26, at 4 p.m. in Ramsey Concert Hall in the Performing Arts Center. A reception will follow in the Orchestra Room of the PAC.

The UGA Choral Association (UGACA) welcomes the world-renowned Choir of Clare College, Cambridge (United Kingdom) in its first international choral exchange on campus.  This well-recorded choir will be under the direction of Timothy Brown.  UGACA is delighted to co-sponsor the event with Athens First Presbyterian Church.
