Guest Masterclass: Isabel Jeremias, bassoon

Costa Rican bassoonist Isabel Jeremias has developed a career as a soloist and chamber musician, having performed concerts in Central America, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Spain, Belgian, Switzerland, Japan and across the United States. She’s a member of Syntagma Musicum (baroque bassoon), The Healinthus Trio, founder and director of the Phoenix Bassoon Quartet; with which she has recorded several CDs. On several occasions she has been invited to teach Master classes in conservatories, universities and summer festivals. Also served as jury in bassoon competitions, and she is the Chair of the IDRS Young Artist Competition for bassoon. Ms. Jeremias has published articles in academic magazines and several of her arrangements for bassoon quartets have been published. In actuality, she is the bassoon Professor at the School of Music at the University of Costa Rica, where she also teaches theory courses.
