The UGA African American Choral Ensemble (AACE) will present its fall concert on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. in Ramsey Concert Hall at the UGA Performing Arts Center.

“This concert features some of the gems of African American choral literature, including spirituals and gospel songs,” said Dr. Gregory Broughton, associate professor of voice at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music and director of the AACE.

The AACE works to preserve and expand appreciation for the rich sounds of African American musical tradition. The ensemble has performed for numerous music conferences and events, including the Georgia Music Educators Association Conference and the Smithsonian Institute’s “New Harmonies” traveling exhibit.

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music sponsors more than 350 performances each year. To view the performance calendar, subscribe to the weekly email concert listing or learn more about the School of Music, go to music.uga.edu.
