Summer Conducting Institute

As part of an array of summer offerings in the Hodgson School of Music geared toward professional development, Choral director Daniel Bara will launch the UGA Summer Choral Conducting Institute.

The UGA Summer Choral Conducting Institute is an intensive, week-long series of seminars and master classes geared for music educators, graduate-student conductors, church musicians, and other aspiring conductors who wish to grow as artists, teachers, musicians, and leaders.

HHSOM Composers, Dancz Center for New Music

the Hugh Hodgson School of Music's Roger & Phyllis Dancz Center for New Music, is a black-box multimedia theater with theatrical lighting, flexible audience seating, 4.4 audio spatialization, and state-of-the-art communication capability with the three adjacent electronic music composition studios. It serves as the rehearsal space for the Contemporary Chamber Ensemble and is also used for solo and chamber ensemble performances involving new music and multimedia.

JanFest at UGA

The University of Georgia Bands is proud to host the 60th annual January High School Festival January 21-24, 2010. This festival allows students from all over Georgia, and beyond, to improve their musical skills through auditions, honor and clinic bands, master classes and listening to guest bands perform.

1,050 students have been accepted to the Janfest Anniversary Festival for an all time high!
