Olivia Durrence

HHSOM Ambassador

Olivia Durrence is a third-year student from Buford, GA, and is studying music education. She is a member of the cello studio, along with being a member of the UGA Symphony Orchestra. She is also a lead teacher in the UGA String Project, which helps to provide string music education to elementary-age students in the Athens area. Additionally, she is the president of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) chapter at UGA. In addition to music education, Olivia is also minoring in Educational Psycology and is getting an ESOL certification. In her free time, she loves running, reading books, and enjoying coffee. In her future classroom, Olivia hopes to foster a life-long love for music in her students while developing a strong orchestra program. In the ambassador program, she hopes to expand the number of string music education students at UGA and increase opportunities for string music education.
