Iris Marcipar, director

The brand new UGA Latin American Music Ensemble launches its inaugural performance with a captivating exploration of Argentina’s rich musical heritage. In this concert you will journey into the vast and diverse territory of Argentina, featuring a range of musical genres that include powerful tangos, rhythmic milongas, nostalgic zambas, and soul-stirring vidalas, along with the soulful rhythms of Huaynos.

This performance also pays homage to the music traditions of the Andes, bringing the sounds of Andean Quena (flute) and Charango (string) to the stage. The evocative sounds of Argentina’s cultural tapestry makes this concert an unmissable experience.
