Milton Masciadri, Distinguished University Professor in the Franklin College of Arts and Science’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music, has been named the University of Georgia’s recipient of the 2016 Southeastern Conference Faculty Achievement Award.

The UGA Percussion Ensemble’s spring concert in Ramsey Concert Hall on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m. will go beyond the ensemble’s characteristic high-quality and innovation with performances of a percussion masterwork and a world premiere.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Georgia is holding a fundraising gala at the Athens Country Club on Sunday, April 3, at 4 p.m. and the entertainment will be home-grown: opera singers from the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music.

The Roger and Phyllis Dancz Center for New Music, with support from the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, will host a two-week festival of new music at the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music from April 4 through April 16. 

David Zerkel, professor of tuba and euphonium at the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music, was recently awarded the International Tuba Euphonium Association’s (ITEA) inaugural Teaching Award.
