Stephen Burns residency at Hodgson School

Join international trumpeter, conductor, composer, and teacher Stephen Burns for an insightful exploration in a Seminar on Professional Development Thursday, November 13 at noon in Edge Recital Hall of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. Burns' background as Founder and Artistic Director of Fulcrum Point New Music Project lends him a unique perspective into how to to follow your aspirations. The seminar is free and open to the public.

Burns will also present a recital at 8:00 pm in Ramsey Concert Hall on Friday, November 14. The performance is an exciting performance in collaboration with the dance department, the Hugh Hodgson School of Music trumpet studio, and the faculty brass and voice departments. A reception will follow the recital. The event is free and open to the public.



Educated at The Juilliard School, Burns completed post-graduate studies in Paris, Ottawa, and Chicago with legendary teachers Pierre Thibaud, Jorma Panula, and Arnold Jacobs. Winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions and the Maurice André International Competition, Stephen is also Founder and Artistic Director of Fulcrum Point New Music Project, as well as visiting lecturer at Northwestern University and Amici della Musica, Firenze.
