Low brass takes center stage in UGA Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble concert

The UGA Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble will perform their fall concert on Monday, Nov. 2 in Ramsey Concert Hall at 8 p.m.

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music’s premier low brass ensemble, the UGA Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble’s program includes works ranging from Mozart to Wagner to Kenyon Wilson, performed under the direction of David Zerkel, the School of Music’s professor of tuba and euphonium.

Ensemble members Kyle Grabigel and Lawrence Williams will also be featured as guest conductors during the performance.

The UGA Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble is an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate low brass students to play challenging music for their instrument while receiving class credit.  The ensemble performs literature including serious original compositions for tuba ensemble, transcriptions of orchestral literature, and lighter arrangements.

Admission to this concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
