UGA School of Music doctoral grad joins University of North Georgia faculty

Luca Lombardi, a recent DMA graduate from the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music, will join the music faculty of the University of North Georgia (UNG) this semester.

Lombardi will become the Double Bass Instructor for UNG, and he will also teach String Methods, Music Appreciation and Music Fundamentals.

A native of Cremona, Italy, Lombardi’s young career is already decorated and expansive. 

In addition to his doctoral degree from UGA, he holds degrees in double bass performance from the Milan Conservatory in Italy. From 2005 to 2011, he taught at the Giuseppe Verdi School of Music in Castelleone, Italy, where he held the position of Director from 2007 to 2011. At UGA, he studied under UNESCO Artist for Peace Milton Masciadri. Lombardi has performed in Italy, France, Switzerland, Russia, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
