UGA University Chorus to perform Haydn’s “The Creation”

University Chorus presents Haydn's "The Creation"

The UGA University Chorus is set to present Haydn’s masterwork oratorio, “The Creation,” in Hodgson Concert Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m.

UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music DMA Conducting student Joy Meade will conduct, leading the chorus as well as an ensemble of orchestral players. “The Creation” will feature a variety of vocal soloists:

Amy Baker, Kathleen Bryant, Erin McCollum, Alexis Minogue, Deborah Stephens and Esther Tonea, singing soprano;

Brian Lustig, Brett Pardue and Cameron Stahl, singing tenor; and

Caleb Hopkins, Philip Reed and Lee Wright, singing bass.

There is no admission charge for this performance.

The University Chorus, directed by Dr. Daniel Bara, is UGA’s largest mixed choral ensemble and is open to university students as well as faculty, staff and Athens community members.
