The Hugh Hodgson School of Music values music and music-making in all cultures and honors the diversity inherent in music in Athens, the state of Georgia, and around the world.

The Belong Series (#HughBelong) celebrates our commitment to:

- A greater emphasis on the study and performance of works by underrepresented composers, including composers of color, composers of non-Western nationalities, female composers, living composers, LGBTQ composers, and other underrepresented groups

- A greater emphasis on the study and performance of works that are not classical or Western European in their traditions and origins, including world musics, jazz, folk, popular, and commercial styles, as well as works that re-imagine the traditional concert experience

- Encouragement and promotion of concerts that program inclusive repertoire
