UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music DMA euphonium student Chris Leslie won a position with the United States Military Academy Band at West Point yesterday.

Leslie will replace UGA alum Jason Ham (BM ’01) and adds to an impressive list of accomplishments, including winning three international competitions and a handful of national honors.

Leslie is also the seventh graduate of the School of Music’s tuba-euphonium studio to become a member of one of the nation’s premier military bands.

“He has been the poster child for hard work during his time here, and we are proud of his accomplishment,” said David Zerkel, professor of tuba and euphonium.
