The UGA Symphony Orchestra (UGASO) closes its season with an entire concert program featuring works by Brahms. UGA Choirs will join together with UGASO for part of the program, performing two choral works. The concert is on April 17th, in Hodgson Hall at 8 p.m.

The concert opens with Brahms' Alto Rhapsodie. The score calls for a solo alto voice, men's chorus and orchestra. Magdalena Wór, a graduate student at UGA, will perform as a soloist.

Following Alto Rhapsodie, the full choir will join UGASO to perform Nänie under the baton of Daniel Bara, the John D. Boyd UGA Foundation Professor of Choral Music and the Director of Choral Activities. The UGA Choirs include the UGA Hodgson Singers, University Chorus, UGA Women's and Men's Glee Club.

For the second part of the concert, the orchestra will perform Symphony No.2 in D major, Opus 73 by Brahms, conducted by Mark Cedel, the Director of UGA Symphony Orchestra and Orchestral Activities.

Tickets for the concert are $12 for adults and $6 for students and can be purchased online at pac.uga.edu or by phone at 706-542-4400. For those unable to attend this event, the concert will be streamed at music.uga.edu/streaming.
