The UGA Opera Theatre will be presenting a semi-staged concert with piano and singers of operatic duets, trios, and quartets.

The performance will be live-streamed from Hodgson Hall on March 24 and 25 beginning at 7:00 pm. There is no need to register in advance to attend this virtual performance. The live stream will be accessible both evenings on the Hugh Hodgson School of Music website using the link below at the time of the performances and will later be available on our YouTube channel.

This concert will feature selections from operas by Mozart, Verdi, Strauss, Bizet and Beethoven. A feature performance on this program includes a UGA premiere is a trio from the opera ‘L’Amant Anonyme’ by the 18th-century composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de St. Georges

Our Opera Theatre Ensemble consists of wonderful undergraduate and graduate singers who are all starting their professional music careers here in our halls.

It is with deep sadness that we share the recent passing of John R. Curtis, our former Vice President of the Friends of UGA Opera Theatre. To honor John’s memory, we are working to endow the first undergraduate Opera Scholarship to honor John's legacy and love for opera. Several anonymous donors have stepped forward and have agreed to match any contributions made to the scholarship up to $50,000.

We would be honored if you chose to remember John by making a gift to this fund in his memory. You may make a gift online: gail.uga.edu/JohnCurtis

If you have any questions, please contact Sara Emery (semery@uga.edu) for more information.
