Percussion Facilities

The UGA Percussion Department has one of the finest collections of professional level instruments in the country as well as state of the art performance facilities and an abundance of dedicated practice space for percussionists.

We have a total of 8 dedicated practice spaces for our students:

  • Main Percussion Suite, equipped with Adams American System Dresden Timpani, concert vibraphone, 5-octave marimba, concert xylophone, and pedal glockenspiel
  • Additional Musser marimba, a wide selection of Pearl hand drums, Zildjian cymbals, media center, and more:
  • Adams Dresden German System Timpani and 5-octave marimba practice room with sound system and CD library

  • American System Walter Light Mark XI Timpani practice room

  • Secondary mallet practice room

  • Drumset practice room

  • Ludwig Practice room

  • Additional xylophone practice room

  • Additional (practice) marimba practice room

  • Renowned band program equipped with its own collection of percussion instruments, as seen here in our dedicated band rehearsal space

  • Adams Dresden American System timpani

  • Adams Pedal Glockenspiel

  • Pearl Philharmonic Concert Snare Drums with Evans Heads

  • Three state-of-the-art concert halls
