The University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music has some of the finest musicians in the country, which has been proven yet again by a recent award announcement by The United States Army Band.

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music will hold its 2018 Graduation Convocation and Awards Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd in Hodgson Concert Hall. Celeste Headlee, award-winning journalist and musician, will be this year’s convocation speaker.

 

Every year, the University of Georgia gives out Excellence in Teaching Awards to graduate students who have gone above and beyond in the area of teaching and best exemplify what it means to be a teacher.

Rounding out this season’s Thursday Scholarship Series is UGA’s Hodgson Wind Ensemble, led by Director of Bands and conducting area chair Cynthia Johnston Turner. The concert will take place on Thursday, April 19th at 7:30 in Hodgson Concert Hall.
