Sally Ann Nichols

Sally Ann Nichols, MM, MT-BC is an Academic Professional / Clinical Supervisor in Music Therapy. She received her M.M. from Florida State University (2018) and B.M. from Belmont University (2016). She has advanced training in neurologic music therapy (NMT-F) and neonatal intensive care unit music therapy (NICU-MT).

University of Georgia Saxophone Studio quartet wins national competition

Mixed Media with their Gold Medals

Students in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music Saxophone Studio have been busy, and their hard work and professionalism has gotten them national recognition. Mixed Media saxophone quartet was awarded the Gold Medal in the senior wind division of the 49th Annual Fischoff Competition, held at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN on May 20-22, 2022.  

  

Chamber Music Athens is back for second season

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia is proud to present the second season of Chamber Music Athens, a premier festival that brings together internationally acclaimed guest artists, UGA faculty and students for ten days of concerts, public masterclasses, panel discussions, and intensive collaboration in rehearsals and chamber music coaching.

Hugh Hodgson School of Music names new Director of Bands

Nicholas Enrico Williams

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia announces the hire of Dr. Nicholas Enrico Williams as Professor of Conducting and Director of Bands. Dr. Williams was hired after an extensive national and international search, and he will be joining the HHSOM in the fall. He brings a wealth of experience, having served in significant roles at the University of Melbourne and the University of North Texas.

 

UGA Symphony Orchestra performs final Thursday Scholarship Series spring season concert

The Hugh Hodson School of Music closes out its 2022 Thursday Scholarship Series Season with a concert featuring the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra Apr. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodgson Hall. The concert is part of the Performing Arts Center 25 Years Gala Celebration.

 

Athens Hip Hop Harmonic: "Coming Together"

Join the Athens Hip Hop Harmonic in their spring collab, Coming Together, featuring R&B artist Convict Julie, Hip Hop artist Linqua Franqa, emcee Montu Miller, and the UGA Contemporary Chamber Ensemble on Wednesday, April 20th, at 7:30pm. The show is hosted at Ciné’s Lab downtown (234 W. Hancock Ave.) - an intimate music room designed for this kind of listening party. The show is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7pm, show at 7:30pm.
