The Georgia Woodwind Quintet will present “A Southern Wind Serenade” on Thursday, November 8 at 8 p.m. in Hodgson Concert Hall.

Over 300 students from the Hugh Hodgson School of Music will present Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, one of the great 20^th century masterworks for orchestra and chorus, as part of the UGA Spotlight on the Arts festival on Tuesday, November 6 at 8 p.m. in Hodgson Concert Hall.  Tickets for the performance are $10/$5 for students and available via the UGA Performing Arts Center box office at 706/542/4400 or online at pac.uga.edu.

Ustad Ghulam Farid Nizami, 17th generation musician, poet, and composer,  will give a performance in Ramsey Concert Hall  on Friday, November 2, at 6:00 p.m.  Admission is $5.

The University of Georgia Opera Theater will present “The Tales of Hoffmann,” Jacques Offenbach’s supernatural tale of unrequited love, in a two-night presentation on Oct. 11 and 13 at 8 p.m. in the Hodgson Concert Hall.

For his faculty recital, D. Ray McClellan, professor of clarinet, decided to share the spotlight.

Cello professor David Starkweather will join the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra in performing the masterworks of Antonín Dvořák on Thursday, September 13 at 8 p.m. in Hodgson Concert Hall.
