The Hugh Hodgson School of Music Ensemble Series continues with the award-winning Hodgson Wind Ensemble on Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodgson Hall featuring works by Yurko, Stravinsky and Mozart.

On Wednesday, February 19, UGA’s Concert Band and University Band perform a joint concert in Hodgson Hall.  Many of the musical selections relate to journeying.

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music Thursday Scholarship Series presents a collaborative concert designed by guitar faculty Daniel Bolshoy Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodgson Hall.

Violinist Shakhida Azimkhodjaeva will perform the program “The Many Faces of 20th Century Music” for her Faculty Artist Series concert Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Ramsey Hall. The program includes pieces by Martinů, Dohnányi, Prokofiev, Ysaÿe and Szymanowski.

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music will present an exciting Thursday Scholarship Series concert on Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodgson Hall, featuring a program by associate director of bands Jaclyn Hartenberger, “Common Hour,” inspired by her conducting classes.

The annual Concerto Competition Concert will be held on Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodgson Hall as part of the Thursday Scholarship Series. Six of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music’s most talented students will perform solos alongside the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra.

The University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music opens the new year with its Faculty Artist Series on Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Ramsey Hall with associate professor of trombone, Josh Bynum. The concert will feature a program that detours from Bynum’s recent solo SEC recital tour to a program of chamber music.

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music presents its final Faculty Artist Series of 2019 with a performance by cellist David Starkweather on Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Ramsey Hall in the UGA Performing Arts Center. 

The Lamar Dodd School of Art is pleased to announce an ongoing collaboration between Christina Foard, MFA Candidate, and Mark Mobley, Co-Director of the ACES program. Foard's ongoing project Imagination Squared: Pathways to Resilience, is a free, city-wide social ecology project that collects public perceptions of resilience through visual symbols and stories.
