The study of counterpoint of the Baroque, with emphasis on model composition and analysis of the keyboard works of J.S. Bach.

Electronic music composition techniques, focusing on composing stereo and quadraphonic fixed-media works, music for fixed-media and instrument, and the study of electroacoustic music circa 1948 to today.

Analysis of form focusing on music from the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries.

The study of counterpoint of the Renaissance, with emphasis on model composition and analysis of the vocal music of Lassus, Josquin, Morley, and Palestrina.

Chromatic harmonic analysis and analytical methods.

Students will demonstrate pedagogical application of IPA and diction principles suitable for error detection and correction in a choral or solo vocal teaching setting.

Audio techniques, technologies, and critical listening will be applied towards recording, mixing, editing, and mastering live and archived recordings for the UGA HHSOM. Working in a professional studio environment equips students with skills needed to succeed in audio recording, while also empowering them in their performance, teaching, and research endeavors.
